Registering here signs you up for all three workshop sessions.
This three-part workshop and certificate program is a professional development opportunity aimed at preparing instructors to effectively teach UWM’s diverse student body. The program has been developed collaboratively by CETL and partners from the UWM Multicultural Network.
The three-fold goals of the program are:
- to inform about racial and cultural diversity at UWM
- to foster awareness of the impact of identity on teaching and learning
- to equip instructors to integrate inclusive teaching practices into their courses.
Instructors who complete the workshop will be prepared to write an inclusive course syllabus and to facilitate classroom activities and assessments that promote equitable participation and positive learning outcomes. Those who wish to also earn a professional development certificate will be invited to submit for review a written self-reflection and sample inclusive teaching materials.
Please note: This workshop is blended (including online components as well as face-to-face sessions). We will have online activities before and between our face-to-face meetings.
Open to UWM Faculty, Teaching Academic Staff, and Graduate Teaching Assistants
