Please join Dylan Barth from the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in a discussion of James Paul Gee’s What Video Games Have to Teach Us about Learning and Literacy. In his book, Gee analyzes how video games effectively engage players, and from these engagement strategies, he develops 36 Learning Principles that can be applied to teaching and learning. When we meet, we will discuss the broader implications of his book as well as how we might apply his learning principles into our own pedagogical designs.
We will meet twice over the summer to discuss the book.
- Wednesday, June 12 3:00-4:30pm (read Chapters 1-4)
- Wednesday, June 26, 3:00-4:30pm (read Chapters 5-8)
By registering for the June 12 date, you are automatically registered for the June 26 date.
Books will be provided by CETL at no charge and will be available in Engelmann B50 in mid-May.
If you have any questions, please contact Dylan Barth.
