In this module, your group assignment will come into sharper focus. You will examine the key “set-up” decisions needed to maximize success with collaborative learning in groups. There are many “handed down” strategies passed on that actually sabotage your efforts to engage students in group work. We will uncover all of the necessary organizational steps that include choosing the number of groups, group size, member selection, group leadership, in- or out-of-class group meetings, online group work, and staying on top of your groups and the rationale for these research-based recommendations with examples.
