In this two-part Institute, you will create or significantly revise a course for an upcoming semester. From minor tweaking to an extreme makeover, you can make a course your own by confidently aligning each course component with your course outcomes.
In Part I you will identify the big questions behind your course, construct overarching course outcomes, outline key assignments, create lesson plans, and sort course content aligned with your course outcomes. Achieve greater intentionality, transparency, and congruency in an existing or new course that will help students stay engaged and achieve the learning that you intend.
Participants will receive the Learner-centered Course Design booklet explaining the seven step design process with examples of each course design component. Through interactive exercises, we will begin using the design steps during the Institute.
