Most instructors have some kind of course notes to guide them through each class session. Yet many admit they either feel like their notes need to be rejuvenated or updated, or that they are barely a week ahead of their students. At the end of a class session, do you find yourself confident that students have learned what you intended? Do students complain that you wander off topic? Is your aim to “cover” the material or to see what students can do with the content as they learn? You may have found that “lecture notes” leave a large gap between them and integrating student activities, groups, media, technology, and a wider range of learning approaches.
Participants will translate one class session into a designed lesson plan that enables them to feel prepared and intentional, and raise their confidence that students are learning.
