Instructors often look for ways to motivate students and incentivize behavior that facilitates success in their courses. D2L has an Awards tool that allows instructors to develop digital badges to recognize students for meeting course-related goals and milestones.

This 1-hour workshop provides a framework for using badges in online, blended, or face-to-face courses and includes example approaches for developing a digital badging system. The workshop will also provide a technical walkthrough of advanced D2L tools—Awards, Release Conditions, and Intelligent Agents—for the creation and awarding of badges to students. A basic working knowledge of D2L is assumed.
