The first day of any class must introduce students to the course and the syllabus, but what else could happen? What if we were able to jumpstart student curiosity about the subject and find out what they know or think they know? What if we could dissolve norms of passivity and anonymity and begin to connect with our students, students to students, and to the core ideas of the course?  What if they left excited, engaged, and wondering about questions that they hadn’t known they had about this subject?  Come to the first of the “Quick Strategies Series” for an hour and leave having your own curiosity and strategies evoked.
