Effective learning in small groups relies on embedding five principles of collaborative group work into the entire course design. Many common challenges to group work can be easily pevented. Participants will learn how to apply Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle to develop active learning class sessions and integrate active learning to short or long portions of class and into all types of courses, including lectures and large classes.
Participants will receive the CETL booklet, Active Learning and Small Group Learning and Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle. Active learning classroom instructors are strongly encouraged to attend. Participants are eligible to achieve the Certificate in Active Learning and Small Group Learning.
