This synchronous online session will examine the challenges of classroom or synchronous discussions and the essential features that will counter those challenges and enhance student learning. We will explore types of discussions including breakout group discussions, purposes and outcomes of discussions, aligned and assessing discussions, and alternate ways to position discussions along with other brief targeted and engaging activities. You will receive a checklist and rubric for helping you redesign discussions.
Increase the usefulness by bringing a prior discussion you’ve created, or access your syllabus and course schedule and we’ll apply these strategies on the spot!
